In this unit we will review the recommended daily requirements for certain age groups for fruits and vegetables. We will look at what a serving size is, discuss what nutrients are associated to certain colors of fruits and vegetables.
Fruits and vegetables are flavourful, colourful, nutritious, easy to prepare, often low in cost and sometimes called “convenience foods.”
As a class we will be examining the reasons for likes and dislikes of some vegetables. List ways to make vegetables more appealing.
You are also going to find a recipe using your favorite fruit or vegetable to prepare for the class.
